On this page you will find instructions on how to set up a Date Question.
The Date Question will ask you to submit a specific date.
The date question can be stored as two different data types:
In a Date Format, which stores the day, month and year
As an Integer Number, which only stores the year.
To change the data type
go the Question Properties and
select Date or Integer in the Data Type selection.
It is only possible to store a date as an integer number if the Views Year is selected in the question settings (see below).
Settings
The attributes of the question can be defined in the settings (e.g. view pattern).
Name | Description |

Pattern | Pattern for the display of the date (e.g DD MMM YYYY = 01 Jan 2021) |
Views | Selection that restricts the view and storing of the date (multi-select) |
→ Date | Complete date (default) |
→ Month | Only months |
→ Year | Only years (Must be selected alone to save the date as an integer.) |
Autofill | FIll in an initial date, either today’s date or select from the date picker. |
Unique | The given value must be unique across all the submissions in the data collection |
Display in the Template
The question is displayed in the data entry form as follows.
To answer the Date Question,
click on the Date Icon and
select the date.
